Last League Match of the Season

15.9.24 – This afternoon we welcomed the 2024 league champions Merton to the green for our last league match of the season. After nine ends Dez, Rosalind, Claire T and Richard F were 7 – 10 down. Unfortunately Rosalind was unwell and unable to continue; despite a valiant effort by WPBC, Merton took advantage of the extra player, going on to win 21 – 12. Caroline, Jay, Sue F and Martin also had a close start, leading 8 – 7 after nine ends. With the scores tied at 15 – 15 playing the last end, WPBC picked up a four to win 19 – 15. Jackie, Mark, Anne and Neil led 13 – 7 at nine ends, going on to win 22- 12. Match result 8 – 2 (53 shots to 48).
