Last Mid-Week Triples League Match of the Season

12.9.24 – This afternoon we welcomed league champions Merton to the green for our last Mid-Week Triples match of 2024. First to finish were Caroline, Pete and Martin who led 12 – 0 after 5 ends. 6 ends later and Merton were back in it, trailing by two shots with WPBC just ahead 13 – 11. A strong finish saw us win 5 of the remaining 7 ends to win 21 – 14. Second off were Anne, Richard F and Neil who were 1 – 6 after 4 ends before winning 9 of the next 11 ends to lead 19 –  9. Although Merton won two of the last three ends they just fell short with Wimbledon Park winning 21 – 15. A tough game against this year’s league champions who had previously been undefeated all season. Match result 8 – 0 (42 shots to 29). Congratulations to all of the players; thanks too to Mark and Sue F for their support at the green.
