Merton Community Awards 2016

Following on from the successes of Rachel (Sporting Achievement winner 2014), Luke (Young Persons’ Achievement winner 2014) and Barry (Sporting Achievement winner 2015), it was Jonathan’s turn this evening at the Merton Community Awards 2016. Short-listed to the final 3, following his record breaking 2015 season, Jonathan was up against two other young sportsmen who had both had success at National Level.

In 2015 Jonathan became the youngest ever winner of the Surrey Men’s Unbadged Singles since the competition started in 1960, as well as being part of the youngest ever Wimbledon and District Men’s Pairs winners when he partnered Luke to the title. Jonathan had also represented Surrey in the Under 25 team as well as in the senior home counties team.

A great honour to have another Wimbledon Park bowler up for the Sporting Achievement Award, our congratulations go to Jonathan on his 3rd place result.
