One Day ‘Round Robin’ Competition

September 25th – this afternoon, on the final day of the 2016 season, club members played the 9th annual ‘Round Robin’ competition for the Challoner Cup. After the group stages had been completed the semi-final line up saw Neil play Barry and Derek play Pete. In two close games, played over 6 ends as had been the group games, Neil made it through to the final with a 5 – 0 win and Pete came from behind to beat Derek 7 – 5. Another close game ensued in the final with Neil emerging as the winner 8 – 1. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the day’s success as well as to the additional £57 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support Merton. The club has now raised just over £720 this season for this worthy cause.
