Penultimate League Match of 2017

Sep 17th – This afternoon we visited Wandilea for our latest league match. Anne, Helen, George and Martin were 4 – 2 up after 2 ends but a run of 7 ends without scoring saw the score transformed to 4 – 17. Unfortunately, despite a brief run of points the second half also belonged to the host side who went on to win 30 – 15. Rosalind, Cherry, Ossie and Neil had a closer game with Wandilea winning 11 ends to WPBC’s 10, taking the game 18 – 16. Claire, Christine, Sabrina and Barry had an even tighter game and with the scores level at 20 – 20 after 20 ends, the last end proved crucial. Unfortunately for Wimbledon Park, despite what looked like the match winning final bowl, once again the game went to the hosts who took the game 21 – 20 and with it the match. Match result 0 – 10 (51 shots to 69).
