Short-listed for Merton’s Sportsperson of the Year

September 5th – congratulations to Jonathan on being short-listed for Merton’s Sportsperson of the Year Award. Last season Jonathan, along with Luke, became the youngest ever winners of the Wimbledon and District Men’s Pairs Competition. Jonathan had previously become the youngest ever winner of the Surrey Men’s Unbadged Singles Competition since the competition began in 1960. As well as representing Surrey in the Senior Home Counties Team last season, Jonathan has gone on to be awarded his Middleton Cup flash having represented Surrey in the Middleton Cup Team on five occasions this year. Jonathan has also represented the Surrey Under-25s in both the Junior Home Counties Team as well as the select White Rose Team. We wish Jonathan well at the presentation evening as he seeks to follow previous ‘Sportsperson of the Year’ winners from Wimbledon Park, his elder sister Rachel who won it in 2014 and Barry who won it in 2015.
