Strong Performance in the League

24.8.19 – This afternoon we welcomed Merton to Wimbledon Park for the final league match of August. Anne, Richard, Sabrina and Barry started strongly leading 19 – 5 at 11 ends, going on to win 28 – 17, which was amended to 28 – 12 as unfortunately Merton were one player short. Mike, Ange, Ossie and Neil trailed 8 – 9 at 11 ends but a fine finish saw them take 8 of the last 10 ends to win 24 – 12. In a free scoring first half, Luke, George, Pete and Martin led 20 – 10 at 11 ends, this was reduced to 20 – 15 by 15 ends, but with the threat of the washing up looming large a resurgent Wimbledon Park scored 14 shots to 3 in the last 6 ends to win 34 – 18. Match result 10 – 0 (86 shots to 42).
