Success in the Wimbledon and District League

July 9th – this afternoon Wimbledon Park travelled to Colliers Wood for their latest league match. Hector, Betty, Vernon and Martin started strongly to lead 11 – 4 at 11 ends. Continuing their strong performance, helped by a count of 5 on the last end, saw them win 22 – 12. Anne, Rosalind, Ossie and Neil found the going tough and at 11 ends were 5 – 11 down. Picking up 8 unanswered shots in the final 4 ends was just enough to get them home with a 17 – 14 win. Helen, Ange, Sabrina and Barry got off to a flying start to lead 20 – 5 at 11 ends. An even second half enabled them to take the game 29 – 15. Match result 10 – 0 (68 shots to 41).
