Two Surrey Successes

20.6.19 – This evening Pete and Neil visited South London for the next round in the Surrey Men’s Pairs. With the home side getting off to a strong start Pete and Neil were 1 – 9 down after 5 ends. A change of jack length brought a timely count of 6 and after 10 ends Wimbledon Park had edged ahead 11 – 10. The second half saw WPBC continue to draw well going onto win 22 – 15.

Over at Wandilea BC, George, Derek, Richard and Martin played the opening round of the Surrey Men’s Top Four competition. With Wimbledon Park opening well, they led 7 – 0 after 3 ends and maintained this to lead 17 – 10 after 11 ends. The second half saw Wandilea dig deep, narrowing the gap to 21 – 17 with one end left to play. Unfortunately for WPBC dropping a count of 4 on the final end left the match all square at 21 – 21. Not to be out-done, the extra end saw Wimbledon Park take shot and with it the game 22 – 21.
