Two Tight Tussles Tonight

Neil took on Wandilea this evening in the Surrey Singles. After close exchanges early on, Neil took the lead, only for his opponent to peg it back and go ahead himself. With the green proving tricky to get a really close draw, it was Neil who came off second best, eventually losing 16 – 21.

Also at home, Barry took on Southwark Sports in the Surrey Secretaries’ Competition. Again the match was close with the final stages looking as though the game could go either way. With the scores level at 20 – 20, Barry played three tremendous bowls, each within 6 inches of the jack to secure victory and a place in the last 4 in Area 1.
