On a tricky green the match was close throughout, with Barry and Neil seeing their 6 – 1 lead reduced as Colliers Wood levelled at 6 -6 after 7 ends. 10 ends later, with the lead having changed no fewer than 5 times, the score was again level at 16 – 16. Two singles to Colliers Wood, followed by a single to Wimbledon Park, left the home side one ahead going to the last end. A short trail on the jack proved enough as Barry and Neil picked up the two they required to win a very close encounter 19 – 18.
