What a Great Way to Spend a Bank Holiday!

27.5.19 – Today Claire, George, Sabrina and Barry took part in Heathfield’s Gala Day. With 5 games of 6 ends played, the scoring was close, with Wimbledon Park winning 2 games and narrowly losing 3 to leave them with a shot difference of -1. Not enough for a place in the final but a great time was had by all.

Over at North Sheen, Rachel and Neil played in the National Family Pairs. Leading 8 – 0 after 4 ends, things were going well, but a change of jack length brought N Sheen back into it. After 17 ends N Sheen led 19 – 12 but a 2, 4, 2 gave Rachel and Neil a one shot advantage with one end to play. After 21 ends, the scores were level at 20 – 20 and so to an extra end. With one bowl left for each skip Rachel and Neil held shot, with his final bowl the N Sheen skip sat on Neil’s shot bowl but with the final bowl of the game Neil did the same to edge through a tight game by the narrowest of margins.
