What an Ending!

This afternoon Wimbledon Park hosted league leaders Streatham Park in their latest Wimbledon and District League match. Starting strongly Luke, Ange (making her league debut), Vernon and Barry led 20 – 6 after 14 ends, however the last 7 ends saw their opponents score 15 shots without reply, including a final end 6, leaving WPBC 20 – 21 losers. Hector, Anne B, Pete and Martin kept things tight early on and were 10 – 8 ahead after 14 ends. Unfortunately they too did not score again, conceding 18 shots in the last 7 ends to lose 10 – 26. Cherry, Helen, Jonathan and Neil were level after 9 ends at 8 – 8 but a strong second half saw them win by 26 – 12. Match result a loss 2 – 8 (56 shots to 59).
