Wimbledon and District Results

June 29th – This afternoon Derek travelled to Bolingbroke to play in the Wimbledon and District Over 60’s Singles. Unfortunately for Wimbledon Park, home advantage counted and Bolingbroke advanced to the next round with a 21 – 12 win.

This evening Alison and Neil played Sabrina and Barry in the District Mixed Pairs competition. With the opening exchanges being very close the lead changed hands no fewer than 7 times in the first 9 ends, before Sabrina and Barry put a run of 4 winning ends together to lead 21 – 11 after 12 ends. 6 ends later and the scores were back level at 21 – 21. In the end it came down to a final end shoot out  with the scores still tied at 22 – 22 and it was Sabrina and Barry who prevailed with a 24 – 22 win.
