Busy Monday Launches a Full Week

This afternoon Wimbledon Park Primary School sent their Year 6 children to the green for their second coaching session in preparation for the Merton Inter-School Tournament on Monday 22nd June. Another very successful afternoon’s bowling took place with the many club volunteers impressed by both the standard of bowling and the mature way the pupils conducted themselves on and off the green. Thank you to all those involved in the session; we look forward to seeing how the defence of the Merton Bowls Title goes next week!

In the evening, Barry, Jonathan, Martin and Neil travelled to Shirley Park for the last 8 of the Area 1 Surrey Fours, unfortunately they found themselves up against a strong team who made their home advantage count. Wimbledon Park were limited to winning only 8 of the 21 ends and came away having lost 16 – 21.

The remainder of the week sees members in the last rounds of the Surrey Secretaries on Tuesday, Unbadged Singles on Wednesday, Pairs on Thursday, National Champion of Champions and Top 4 on Friday and the National Family Pairs and Surrey 2 Woods on Saturday. We hope to be able to report news of successes over the next few days!
