Merton Civic Award for Sporting Achievement

Congratulations to Barry for winning the ‘Sporting Achievement’ category at the Merton Civic Awards this evening. Following his leadership of the recruitment campaign in 2014, running each of the weekly taster sessions, organising the coaching of Wimbledon Park Primary School and the inter-school tournament, liaising with the Surrey Bowls Association about this youth development work, all the work which led to the club being Regional Winners in the Bowls England ‘Club of the Year’ Competition and his successes on the green in winning the Wimbledon and District Triples and retaining the Pairs Titles, the award is richly deserved!
