This evening, Richard F, Vernon, Richard S and Martin played Merton Park in the Surrey Men’s Top Four competition. In a close game the visitors led 10 - 5 after 9 ends, only for WPBC to win the next seven ends to lead 17 - 10. With the scores level at 17 - 17 playing the last end, it was Merton Park who claimed the victory 18 - 17.

This evening Neil played at Streatham Park in the Surrey Men’s Singles. Starting well, Neil built a 10 - 4 lead, which he continued to hold at 12 - 7. Streatham Park however had other ideas and chipped away at the lead, before going on to take the game 21 - 14.

This evening Barry and Neil were away at Wandilea in the Surrey Men’s Pairs. In even exchanges early on, the scores were level at 8 - 8 after 11 ends. A couple of ends later and WPBC led 14 - 8, only for Wandilea to pick up a count of 4. The final ends saw Wimbledon Park edge a close game 18 - 12.

This afternoon Barry was up at South London for the Surrey Officers’ Bowl. In an evenly matched game, where the scores were levelled 6 times during the match, an incredible 4 on the 22nd end proved crucial. Barry had two bowls 9 inches from the Jack, but his opponent had all 4 bowls inside them. Final score 21 - 17 to South London.

This evening Barry, Richard S and Neil took on South London in the Surrey Men’s Triples. Starting strongly, Wimbledon Park led 10 - 1 after 4 ends and 15 - 6 after 13 of the 18 ends. In the final 5 ends, the visitors rallied, but it was WPBC who advanced to the next round with a 16 - 12 win. Thanks to Richard F for his support this evening.
