29 Ends Played and Then A Surrey Badge

Jonathan played the Area Final of the Surrey Unbadged Singles this evening up at South London. In a close game against Croydon, Jonathan found himself behind early on to some tidy draw bowling from his opponent. Having got to 8 – 13, Jonathan picked up his game and edged ahead 17 – 14, only for his opponent to level at 18 – 18 and then go ahead 18 – 19. Not to be outdone, Jonathan picked up a two to lead 20 – 19 and then with his final bowl on the next end, when one shot down, picked up the jack and sat on it, preventing his opponent from scoring. Match result 21 – 19, a place in next week’s Surrey Quarter-final at Purley Bury and a well deserved Surrey Badge.
