6th District Semi-final Place and Our First Finalist

This evening Barry played Magdalen Park in the quarter-final of the District Over 60’s Men’s Singles. In rather wet conditions Barry took an early lead, but every time he began to pull away his opponent pegged the score back. Barry’s more consistent drawing was the difference and he booked his semi-final place with a 21 – 13 win.

Over at Wandilea, Neil played the semi-final of the District Mixed Singles (open to men and ladies). Playing against Heathfield, it was again consistent drawing which helped Neil, as well as some very unfortunate flicks on the jack from his opponent in the early ends. Wimbledon Park’s first place in the District Finals was secured with a 21 – 4 win. The finals take place at Wandilea on Sunday 13th September.
