A Busy Weekend Comes To An End

This morning Jonathan and Neil represented Surrey Area 1 in their local match at West Wimbledon against Area 2. Jonathan led on one rink which finished 7 shots down to Area 2, whilst Neil skipped his rink to a 19 – 18 victory, overturning a ten shot deficit in the process. Overall Area 1 took the victory by a narrow four shot margin.

This afternoon Wimbledon Park travelled to Bolingbroke for the latest league match. With only nine players available against Bolingbroke’s twelve the going was tough. Betty, Ann H and Neil battled throughout turning a 6 – 10 score at ten ends into a 12 – 10 lead at 15 ends. Unfortunately for WPBC dropping 15 shots in the next five ends put pay to any chance of a win and despite winning 11 ends, the game ended at 14 – 25. Helen, Luke and Jonathan suffered at the hands of Bolingbroke who reached ten ends leading 22 – 4 and went on to win 41 – 10. Anne B, Gay and Pete managed to win a creditable 9 ends but came off with a 12 – 32 score line. Match result 0 – 10 (36 shots to 98).
