Yet Another Busy Saturday at Wimbledon Park!

A busy day for Wimbledon Park began with Luke, Pete and Jonathan playing Wandilea in the District Men’s Triples. Unfortunately for the home side their opponents proved too strong with Wandilea winning 19 – 7. Overlapping with the game was today’s taster session which saw 11 people take to the green including 3 first time visitors.

This afternoon saw the Ladies take on the Men for the Memorial Cup. In a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, where players donned an assortment of brightly coloured outfits, it was wonderful to welcome Rosalind, Alison and Ann S who all played in a match situation for the first time. With some excellent bowls from both teams it was however the Men who prevailed winning on both rinks. This afternoon also saw Jonathan play for the Surrey Senior side for the first time in the Senior Home Counties League. Playing against Berkshire, Surrey won convincingly, winning on 5 out of the 6 rinks.
