A Great Start to Finals’ Weekend

September 3rd – With over half of the club down at the green for the first day of the Club Finals’ Weekend, a successful tine was guaranteed. The first session saw the start of the Robert Faulds’ (formally The Junior) Competition, played as a ‘Round Robin’ between the 12 entrants, split in to two groups. Also in Session 1 Angela beat Sabrina 21 – 19 in the Ladies’ Handicap whilst Neil beat Pete 21 – 17 in the Club Handicap. Session 2 saw further rounds of the Robert Faulds’ Competition, along with Sabrina beating Mary 16 – 13 in the Ladies’ 2 Woods and Cherry/Neil beating Anne/Barry 22 – 19 in the 2 Wood Handicap Pairs. The final session saw the semi-finals of the Robert Faulds’ Competition with Cassie taking her place in the final at the expense of Steven and Matthew doing so with a win against Claire. In the Ladies’ 3-2-1 Sabrina beat Angela 65 – 43 and in the 3 Wood Yardstick Neil beat Pete 42 – 31. Thanks to everyone who helped with the day, on the green, playing, officiating and with lunch. Day 2 starts on Sunday at 11am.
