Bowls Can Be So Cruel!

This afternoon Barry travelled to West Wimbledon to take on Raynes Park in the semi-final of the District Men’s Over 60’s Singles. In what turned out to be a battle royal, Barry took an 8 – 2 lead, only for his opponent to take the lead and extend it to 14 – 9. Barry then rallied to get back to 17 – 19, before picking up a single and a two to lead 20 – 19. With the game going the full distance, unfortunately for Wimbledon Park it was Barry’s opponent who took the crucial last end getting the second shot on a measure to advance to the final with a winning score of 21 – 20.

Next week sees club members in the semi-finals of the Men’s Pairs (x2), Mixed Pairs, Men’s Triples, Mixed Triples and Men’s Fours!
