District Top 10 v South London

On Friday evening we had the District Top 10 competition away at South London. In the Singles, Neil had a close game with both bowlers drawing well, but managed to secure the win 21 – 10. In the Pairs, Claire T and Martin started well and were 10 – 6 up after 9 ends. A strong second half saw a close game finish with South London winning 19 – 17. In the Fours, Anne, Caroline, Richard S and Dave started well and led 15 – 5 after 9 ends. South London came right back to close the gap to 15 – 11, before the final ends went to WPBC and with it the game 20 – 11. Last to finish were Sue F, Mark and Pete who were 7 – 8 down at the half way mark, but finished strongly to win the game 18 – 14, with two ends not played. Match result… a win for Wimbledon Park and a place in the semi-final with a 76 – 54 win. A special thank you to Richard F and Rosalind for their support up at South London.
