Final Mid-Week Triples Match of 2018

25.9.18 – This afternoon saw our final mid-week Triples fixture of the season as we travelled to Merton for a winner takes all clash. Lying in second place, and taking on the league leaders, a win on both rinks would have seen us close the season as Champions of Division 2, securing a place in Division 1 for 2019. Alas it was not to be, despite a valiant effort on what turned out to be one of the heaviest greens experienced this year. Rosalind, Ossie and Vernon got to the half way point at 4 – 18, a better second half saw the game end at 10 – 26. Anne, Ange and Barry had a tighter game reaching half way at 7 – 10, before finishing the game just one shot behind at 14 – 15. Match result 0 – 8 (24 shots to 41). Thank you to all the Triples players, led by Barry, who once again secured the Runners-Up spot in Division 2.
