Mixed Fortunes in Tonight’s Competitions

At home this evening Ossie, Pete, Jonathan and Barry took on Heathfield in the second round of the Surrey Area Top 4 Competition. With Heathfield getting off to a strong start WPBC found themselves 1 – 10 down after 7 ends. Picking up two 3s in the next three ends helped the home bowlers, unfortunately dropping a 6 didn’t. The match eventually going to Heathfield by 30 shots to 17.

Over at Belmont, Neil was playing in the National Champion of Champions Competition. Playing on what proved to be a tricky end rink honours were even after 10 ends at 7 – 7. Winning 5 out of the next 6 ends, Neil opened up a 17 – 8 lead and despite his opponent closing the gap a three on the 21st end was enough to see Neil through to the next round with a 21 – 13 win.
