Oh So Close in the Men’s Fours

August 15th – this evening over at Colliers Wood, Ossie, Vernon, Pete and Martin played the quarter-final of the Wimbledon and District Men’s Fours. From 4- 11 down, WPBC slowly fought back closing the gap to a single shot at 12 – 13 after 20 ends. As the final end was played WPBC held three shots with the Colliers Wood skip ready to bowl the last bowl of the game. As the bowl approached on a tight line, joy turned to despair for WPBC as the bowl hit a short bowl and drifted in for shot, giving Colliers Wood the semi-final spot with a 14 -12 win.
