6.8.19 – This afternoon Barry, Pete, Martin and Neil played The Isle Of Wight in their first match at the National Championships in Royal Leamington Spa. The first ten ends of the Senior Fours were singles, with IOW leading 6 – 4. The next 7 ends were tight too, leaving Wimbledon Park at 12 – 12 with one end remaining. With WPBC’s final bowl, the jack was sprung into the ditch leaving them holding two and although the IOW skip took out the shot bowl he ran into the ditch and Wimbledon Park took the win 13 – 12.
