Top Two Tussle it out in the Mid-week League

Aug 16th – This afternoon Wimbledon Park welcomed league leaders, Heathfield, for the latest match in the mid-week triples league. Anne, Vernon and Barry started well leading 4 – 0 after 3 ends and 8 – 3 after 7 ends. With their opponents winning 8 of the next 9 ends however, the game shifted to Heathfield who led 16 – 9 with two ends remaining. A final flourish saw WPBC pick up a 1 and a 5 to leave them just one shot adrift at 15 – 16. Ange, Ossie and Neil found their opposition skip on fire and at 9 ends were 4 – 12 down. Just edging the second half left WPBC four shots behind at the close with the scores at 13 – 17. Match result 0 – 8 (28 shots to 33).
