Tough Time in the Mid-week League

June 23rd – this afternoon, following the torrential rain overnight, Wimbledon Park travelled to Heathfield for their 3rd mid-week triples game this year. With the green bowling quite heavily, WPBC found the going tough, but a surge mid-game saw Derek, Vernon and Barry go from 6 – 16 down at the mid-way point to 19 – 19, 5 ends later. Unfortunately the game changed again at the end and Barry’s triple went down 19 – 28. Ossie, Hector and Jonathan were 1 – 10 down after 7 ends, but a strong second half, including a 5 on the final end saw the triple win 17 – 15. Match result 2 – 6 (36 shots to 43).
