								12.6.24 - This evening at Wallington, Sue F, Rosalind, Anne and Claire T played the opening round of the Surrey Ladies’ Fours. In a tight, low scoring game, WPBC were 2 - 7 down after 8 ends. Despite winning 8 of the remaining 10 ends, it left us one shot short of forcing an extra end, as Wallington advanced to round two with an 11 - 10 victory.

								12.6.24 - This evening, Neil was over at Shirley Park for the Surrey Men’s Champion of Champions. Starting well, on what both players found to be a tricky rink, Neil edged ahead to lead 11 - 5. A change of Jack length saw his opponent overcome his earlier struggles and a dominant second half saw Shirley Park through to the next round 21 - 13.

								11.6.24 - In a hastily rearranged match, Pete and Martin were over at Southwark Sports this evening for their second round match in the Surrey Men’s Pairs. On an extremely heavy green, the scores were level at 7 - 7 after 7 ends before the home team took advantage in the second half to win 21 - 7.

								11.6.24 - Pete and Martin advanced to the second round of the Surrey Men’s Triples after their opponents had to concede the game to them.
Dez, Matt and Neil were at home to Belmont in their first round match. Unfortunately for them their opponents were in top gear from the start and it was Belmont who advanced to round 2 with a 27 - 12 win.

								10.6.24 - This evening over at Purley, Dez, Mark, Richard F and Neil played the opening game in the Surrey Men’s Top Four competition. On another chilly evening it was the home team who settled quickest, leading 12 - 2 after 9 ends, before going on to advance to round two with a 22 - 9 win.

								9.6.24 - This evening Dez, Matt and Neil were away at Southey in the first round of the District Men’s Triples. WPBC battled hard to lead 6 - 4 after 6 ends, but unfortunately their opponents then put together a run of five ends without reply, going on to win the match 22 - 10.

In the Red Group were Claire W-A, Gail, Sue F and Sue R, whilst in the Blue Group were Alison, Caroline, Christine P and Rosalind. 								9.6.24 - Shirley Park hosted 29 bowlers today in a knockout tournament to see which four bowlers would go forward to represent Area 1 in the Surrey last 16 on Sunday 28th July. In round 1 Neil beat Belmont 15 - 10 and in round 2 Purley 16 - 9. In his final game he beat Purley Bury 16 - 10 to book one of Area 1’s  four places in the Surrey last 16.

Continuing to play well, they finished 20 - 11. On the other rink, being the ditch rink, Sallie, Mark & Richard S also got off to a flyer taking a 15 - 4 lead after 10 ends. A close start saw the teams locked at 5 - 5 after 10 ends, before WPBC pulled away in the second half, to book a place in the Area Quarter-Final with a 19 - 14 win.
