May 27th - Today from 11am - 5pm Wimbledon Park BC hosted its annual 'Open Day' and what a great day it was. With 27 visitors from a range of countries in Europe, Asia and Australasia it really was an international day, but one which was thoroughly enjoyed from the youngest, aged 8, to the oldest aged over 70.

May 26th - This afternoon Barry hosted Heathfield in the first round of the Surrey Secretaries' competition. Settling quickly and finding the length, Barry edged ahead to lead 6 - 3 after 7 ends. Continuing to draw well Barry closed out the game after 17 ends winning 21 - 7.

May 23rd - Sabrina hosted Maldon Manor for the second round of the Surrey ladies unbadged singles. In what proved to be a tight first half Sabrina managed to lead 7/4 after 9 ends. But Sabrina's opponent came back strong with some especially good last wood bowls on ends to win the game 21/13.

May 22nd - this evening Barry, Pete, Martin and Neil travelled to Belmont for the first round of the Surrey Fours competition. After 9 ends WPBC found themselves 5 - 8 behind, but still within touching distance of their opponents. Picking up a 5 and a 3 on the next two ends was the turning point with Wimbledon Park going on to win the game by 23 shots to 9.

May 21st - This morning Jonathan played for the Surrey Under-25 Men in the first round of the National Double Rink competition against Berkshire. Unfortunately Surrey won one rink by 2 shots but lost the other by 14 and so were knocked out of the competition.

May 20th - This morning over at Croydon, Jonathan led his rink as Surrey took on Middlesex in the first of 2017's Senior Home Counties league matches. May 18th - this evening Neil travelled to Streatham Park for the first round of the Surrey Champion of Champions Competition. Despite the rain, both bowlers drew well with Neil edging ahead early on to lead 15 - 8, before his opponent upped a couple of gears, pulling away to take the game 21 - 16.
